Rodizio Grill Now Open in San Diego

Rodizio Grill® America’s First Brazilian Steakhouse® has opened in San Diego. Established in 1995, Rodizio Grill was the first Brazilian “churrasco” steakhouse in the United States. Since that time, Rodizio Grill has become a national franchise with more than twenty locations across the U.S.
Ivan Utrera, founder of Rodizio Grill, is thrilled at the opportunity to bring Rodizio Grill to the West Coast. “The greater San Diego area is the perfect place to introduce Rodizio's fun, vibrant atmosphere into a diverse and eager community full of people who love new experiences,” Utrera said. “I believe it's going to be a perfect fit.”

Rodizio Grill presents check to Image Reborn Foundation

In October, Rodizio Grill locations nationwide donated 100 percent the Rabanada dessert sales to the Image Reborn Foundation. Collectively from the Rabanada dessert sales and additional support throughout 2024, Rodizio Grill donated $81,000 to the Foundation. Rodizio Grill’s Founder Ivan Utrera alongside Managers Diego Quiroa & Thiago Navarro, and Nick Utrera, VP of Operations, presented this check to the Image Reborn Foundation Founder, Dr. Renato Saltz, at the Foundation’s annual Gala on November 2, 2024.
Image Reborn Foundation provides weekend retreats to breast cancer survivors at no cost to participants. These retreats help women reclaim their sense of personal power and empower them to live beyond breast cancer.
Image Reborn was founded by plastic surgeon Dr. Renato Saltz, a close friend of Rodizio Grill’s President and Founder Ivan Utrera. Dr. Saltz, Chair of the Education Council of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, began the Image Reborn Foundation after seeing a need wasn’t being met.
“We put these women through all of the treatments and surgeries that fix their bodies, but find that they still are very sad when they come back to the clinics for checkups,” stated Dr. Saltz. “Some have family issues that are still unresolved. Many go through divorce or lose their jobs and have problems with their children; I realized that there was still a lot for these women to deal with that we, as physicians, weren’t addressing.” Rodizio Grill has been a proud sponsor of Image Reborn since its inception.
Taking place in Utah and Colorado, the retreats are customized to the needs of those attending, and may include discussion groups, breast cancer education, nutritional information and exercise opportunities, journaling, massage therapy and rejuvenation.

Rodizio Grill’s signature dessert, the Rabanada, is a guest and staff favorite.
The Image Reborn Foundation provides weekend retreats to breast cancer survivors at no cost to participants. These retreats help women reclaim their sense of personal power and empower them to live beyond breast cancer.
Last year, Rodizio Grill donated over $80,000 to the Foundation.

Established in 1995, Rodizio Grill was the first Brazilian “churrasco” steakhouse in the United States. Since then, Rodizio Grill has grown into an esteemed national franchise, boasting more than 20 locations in 14 states.
The 9,250-square foot restaurant in Wesley Chapel is the brand’s sixth location in Florida, and first ground-up location. “Wesley Chapel is just booming in terms of growth and is attracting both residents and tourists with really great diverse experiences,” said Ivan Utrera, Founder and President of Rodizio Grill. “We are excited to be part of that momentum and to find a home in this community.”
Rodizio Grill Naples will mark the brand’s seventh Florida location, third in Southwest Florida. “Our location in Estero has grown tremendously over the past eight years, with many guests traveling from south Naples and Marco Island to dine with us,” said Utrera. “Many of our guests have told us of their desire for a location in Naples; we were thrilled when this incredible opportunity presented itself at the highly coveted Coastland Center.” The 9,500 square foot location is expected to seat over 400 guests and will include multiple private and semi-private event spaces.
Utrera is thrilled at the opportunity to bring Rodizio Grill to the West Coast. “San Diego is the perfect place to introduce Rodizio's fun, vibrant atmosphere into a diverse and eager community full of people who love new experiences,” Utrera said. “I believe it's going to be a perfect fit.” Located at 110 Magnolia Avenue in downtown El Cajon, Rodizio Grill will offer guests an authentic and abundant Brazilian dining experience suited to the surrounding community and its residence. With easy local access and great parking, families of East San Diego County will find a comfortable atmosphere of friendly Brazilian hospitality. The location is scheduled to open late 2024.
Centrally located in one of the fastest-growing regions in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Rodizio Grill of North Scottsdale is the brand’s second location in Arizona. The restaurant will feature several semi-private group dining spaces to suit events both personal and professional. Slated to open in late 2024, the location will serve residents as well as visitors of popular golf courses, hotels, and other attractions in the area. “It’s an honor to be part of all the big things happening here,” said Utrera. “People choose to come North Scottsdale to live and play for so many great reasons. Brazil-native Thiago Navarro is the General Manager of Rodizio Grill's newest location, bringing with him close to a decade of experience with the brand. “Having grown up in Brazil, many of my cherished childhood memories took place at our local churrascaria – whether it was celebrating a special occasion or simply spending quality time with my loved ones,” said Navarro. “Rodizio Grill is truly the embodiment of these memories – the traditional fare, the experience with the Gauchos and the fun atmosphere. Rodizio Grill is located at 2082 Grand Cypress Drive in Lutz. The 9,250-square foot restaurant will feature several private and semi-private event spaces. The restaurant will create upwards of sixty jobs.

Rodizio Grill of Downtown Chattanooga is now under new ownership. Brothers, Leandro De Paula and Renan Utrera, are the primary owners, both of whom are Brazilian and have worked and operated other Rodizio Grill locations for the past 5 years.
Leandro De Paula and Renan Utrera are related to Rodizio Grill’s Founder, Ivan Utrera. “When my uncle founded Rodizio Grill, he envisioned a place filled with Brazilian tradition – a showcase of the sights, sounds and delicious fare from our homeland. A place that would give guests an authentic Brazilian dining experience that couldn’t be found anywhere else here in the United States,” stated De Paula. “For nearly 30 years, Rodizio Grill has become known across the country for our playful Brazilian spirit, authentic menu offerings and family-friendly atmosphere. It is our goal to bring the Brazilian spirit, unsurpassed levels of service and the highest quality of food – exactly what you would enjoy at a churrascaria in Southern Brazil.”
Renan Utrera has a passion for this traditional Brazilian dining experience as he, alongside De Paula, was born and raised in Brazil. “Many of my fond childhood memories took place at our local churrascaria – whether it was celebrating birthdays or just spending quality time with my family and friends. “ A véspera de Natal foi muito difícil para mim, pensando em todos os funcionários do Rodizio Grill que não iriam poder prover uma boa Ceia de Natal ou mesmo presentes para as suas famílias. Por causa da Pandêmia da Covid-19, muitos não podem trabalhar, devido ao fechamento imposto em certas cidades e até mesmo estados inteiros.
Mas quando acordei na manhã de Natal, meu coração despencou ainda mais. A notícia do atentado a bomba na cidade de Nashville, estava espalhada em todos os meios de comunicação. A explosão ocorreu bem em frente ao nosso restaurante, que havia reaberto após permancer fechado durante os dois primeiros meses da pandêmia.
Chorei muito ao assistir na TV, imagens da destruição total da fachada e do letreiro do Rodizio Grill, assim como todos os demais estabelecimentos próximos ao local da explosão. Felizmente, as 3 vítimas deste atentado, não sofreram ferimentos graves, mas agora inúmeros funcionários que já vinham sofrendo com as limitações da pandêmia, não poderão trabalhar e prover sustento às suas famílias. Vão levar alguns meses, ou mais, até que possamos servir nossos clientes novamente. Meu coração apertado sofre por nossos funcionários e suas famílias neste momento tão difícil.” – concluiu Ivan Utrera.

Each of our locations will reopen when local Health Officials allow, and we will follow the guidelines in place for that county.
Temporary Adaptions could include but not limited to:

- Maximum number guests per table per local health county requirement

- Our staff will be wearing masks and gloves and will be changing gloves frequently.

For the past 25 years, Rodizio Grill has been committed to upholding stringent employee training and guest-safety procedures so we can safely provide an excellent guest experience. An abundance of cleaning procedures is performed at all our locations which include sanitizing all guest contact surfaces, doorknobs, handles and railings; all utensils used at salad bar are sanitized hourly; managers are ServSafe certified as well as employees undergo vigorous guest and food safety training.
In light of the concern surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus), we’ve implemented additional measures to ensure all guests feel protected and safe while dining at Rodizio Grill. These measures include placing hand sanitizations at our salad bar and our host stand, continuously sanitizing our salad bar area, an employee policy to remain at home if any flu-like symptoms are developed, and an increased attention to company-wide food safety and sanitation practices that keep all guests and team members safe and healthy.
We are closely monitoring updates from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and will continue to seek guidance from these agencies and public health officials. We are committed to providing a safe and fun dining experience at Rodizio Grill and will do everything in our power to deliver upon this promise.

It is with great sadness we announce that Rodizio Grill is being forced to cease operations at Utah Motorsports Campus. We will no longer operate after April 6, 2019.
Since May 2016, we have been proud to support the Tooele County community by serving over 35,000 guests, employing over 75 staff members and leveraging our state and national presence to increase awareness of Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC). In total, we’ve invested over $200,000 to support both the greater Tooele community and UMC, particularly during UMC’s years of legal challenges. Despite our efforts to create a mutually-beneficial long-term plan for Rodizio Grill to remain operating, on April 2 we were informed that Mitime Utah Investment, LLC., has chosen to go in a different direction, thus requiring our closure.
“We have offered our current staff members jobs at other Rodizio Grill locations in Utah, and it is our hope to serve as many of our valued guests during this last weekend of operation,” stated David Utrera, General Manager of Rodizio Grill UMC. “To show our appreciation to the community, this Friday and Saturday night, we will be offering all guests complimentary Brazilian Limeades with dinner purchase, as well as give all guests a special offer to be redeemed at Rodizio Grill in Salt Lake City. Rodizio Grill Sarasota Raises $5760 for Hurricane Victims

“Our hearts go out to our neighbors and friends who are dealing with the devastation from Hurricane Michael,” said Charlie Haney, one of three Owners of Rodizio Grill – Sarasota. “We want to make a difference, and we’ve heard many others in our community do, too. By raising money to buy food & water, we can really help those in desperate need.”
On Oct. 15th, Rodizio Grill Sarasota collected money to purchase food and water which was delivered to those in need. Rodizio Grill Sarasota partnered with their local Food Distributor who sold food & water at a discounted price and supplied the truck to deliver the supplies.
Rodizio Grill Sarasota Owners Charlie Haney, Brian Marshall and Barry Berkowitz and Rodizio Grill Founder, Ivan Utrera each financially contributed to this effort.
$5,760 was raised which purchased 254 cases of food! These cases included: 1,180 Granola Bars, 113 lbs. Canned Chicken, 252 lbs. Chicken Soup With Rice, 1,200 Peanut Butter & Cracker Packages, 5,000 Saltine Cracker Packages, 288 Tuna Salad Packages, 200 Loaves of Bread, 3,036 Oranges, 1,224 lbs. Apples, 744 lbs. Charcoal Briquettes and 300 - 1-Gallons of Water.

Owners Charlie Haney, Barry Berkowitz and Brian Marshall are excited to not only support their community but create more than 50 local jobs. Rodizio Grill Announces Its Fourth Location in Utah

This summer, Rodizio Grill will open its fourth location in Utah, at The Shops at Riverwoods in Provo. For 20 years, this authentically Brazilian brand has been known in Utah for its uniquely traditional cuisine, service, and family-friendly atmosphere. "I was thrilled when Riverwoods approached me with the opportunity to bring Rodizio Grill to my hometown of Provo," said David Knighton, owner of Rodizio Grill – Provo. "I've always loved this community, and have enjoyed working with the owners of the Shops at Riverwoods."
Knighton's roots run deep both in Utah and Brazilian culture. He grew up just 2 miles from The Shops at Riverwoods, and played Little League Baseball on the very land where the Riverwoods offices now stand. Provo was his home throughout his childhood and adolescence until, during high school, his father was asked to serve a 3-year LDS Church assignment in Rio de Janeiro and the entire family moved to Brazil.
There, Knighton's love for Brazil, its people, and its culture began. He continued his Portuguese immersion by serving for 2 years in Portugal and Cape Verde, Africa. At the end of his travels, Knighton returned to Provo to pursue higher education. Knighton holds a BA in Economics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the Marriot School of Management. He has been with Rodizio Grill since 2004 and also owns locations in American Fork, UT and Pensacola, FL.

Bacon Fest Is Back!

Rodizio Grill®, America's First Brazilian Steakhouse® launched its fourth annual BaconFest for a limited time during dinner hours. This year's event is sure to excite the taste buds with a variety of bacon-inspired sides, gourmet salads, grilled items and dessert.
